I have been taking cars to Ervine's for over 10 years. Eric, Bruce and Jamie are the nicest people and I recommend them wholeheartedly! They are honest and professional and do a great job. I also love that they offer a loaner car while they are working on yours. As long as I live in West Michigan I will be taking my car to Ervine's-heck, even if I didn't live here I'd try to bring my car here!

These guys know their stuff and they're very friendly to boot. I worked with Bruce, whose son actually recommended the shop to me. I'm a shade tree mechanic - I do basic work on my car during the warm months and have done as much as change the timing belt on my Focus. However, during the cold months of the year, I don't have a garage in Grand Rapids to do this kind of work (I did when I lived in the Detroit area and I miss those days dearly). When my accessory tensioner broke in January, I didn't want to force myself to work on the car with freezing cold fingers in my parking lot. Enter Ervine's: I had my car towed there and they did all of the work. Bruce was very up-front and friendly about everything and I couldn't be happier with the results. He found a few other issues with the car (bad water pump - ugh!) and replaced a tie rod end as well. Even though my car was lowered, Bruce made an exception to their policy on modified cars and performed an alignment as best he could anyway. The car doesn't handle the way it should, but that's my fault since the camber isn't set correctly. My only grudge is a personal one since I'm spoiled and normally fix my own cars: this was an expensive trip. I spent $900 when all was said and done. I could have done the work myself for $400 with OEM brand parts. NAPA parts aren't cheap to begin with and when you throw labor on top of that, this definitely isn't a cheap shop to take your car to. But you get what you pay for, and I paid a premium. Highly recommended if you want car repair work and maintenance done right.

How may places have 2 mechanics test drive your vehicle after repairs? How many places have free loaner cars? I have never felt so safe in my vehicle after going to Ervine's. The service at Ervine's is honest and quick. I don't care for going to dealership but I want the car I drive to last. When the engine on my car was failing they diagnosed the problem and informed me that the repair was covered under my warranty. This repair would've cost me $3k-$5k if serviced outside of a dealership. I am very thankful to Ervine's and have continued to use them and refer them to my friends.

I was serviced by Bruce and I must say that he was among the most competent servicemen that I've ever had the pleasure of interacting with. I brought a used car to them for inspection and he dutifully pointed out that while the car was otherwise in great condition, there were three anomalies that when combined was a potential systematic failure that could have cost me upwards of $3,000 to $4,000 extra to repair on my own if I were to purchase this car. Staff was friendly and did not mind me calling a jillion times and we even made light of it. 🙂 I plan on using them in the future for my auto repair needs.
