To be fair, you can get your car services and repairs anywhere and generally speaking it will be taken care of. However, Ervine has a passion and proactive approach to the job that impressed me. They not only fixed my problem, but they also identified other issues or potential issues and made very helpful suggestions for future repairs. While a typical shop would present this to a customer verbally with limited explanation, Ervine provides a thorough online report of your vehicle which incorporates explanations, notes, pictures, videos of their findings. I can’t stress enough how impressive it was to see the report – it was like a college research project on your vehicle; for example ,you don’t get told verbally a wheel is squeaking, you get an explanation, a suspected root cause, and video of your actual wheel spinning so you can see and hear for yourself. They were thorough, quick, and very responsive with my questions and thoughts. I brought my vehicle there for a specific issue, but within 3 hours as a bonus, I received this very thorough report identifying overall state of affairs for the vehicle as a whole. This was immediately followed up with a call from Bruce to go over his findings and answer questions. As the work was being done, Bruce kept me informed on how it looked and the different possibility that I could expect (long story, but there was a condition on the vehicle that if process did or did not work would greatly affect the price –Bruce was successful at it and saved me money). I could explain more, but would be too wordy. The point I wanted to make is that Ervine was a great experience for me. It’s a mom/pop feel with very experienced technicians. Very thorough, very honest, very passionate. They treated my vehicle as it was their own. With the free benefit of a loaner vehicle, the experience was great and I will be back again; because they are a great fair and honest company that I trust. Ervine was great and they deserve your consideration next time you have a vehicle issue needing fixing.

I had some works done at Ervines a few years back on my ford focus. They did a great job but I wouldn't say its inexpensive. I recently tried to have them diagonostic the griding noise on my ford hybrid C-max but they wanted to charge me $147.00. Of course, I declined the service and called around and found a few autoshops that would do it for $50. I ended up taking it to Christian brothers automotive and they found the source of noises, which was the issue with our transmission. This autoshop then provided extensive documents stating this probblem is covered by ford warranty. Its currently sitting at a ford shop waiting for parts. Overall the whole process is only costing me $50. I have no doubt of Ervines comptency but I am not sure they would have sent me to the ford dealer to have my problem fixed for free. I had work done for my focus under my husband's name. Thanks for the reply!

Great battery health check!

I encountered a problem with my 2010 Fusion Hybrid that Eric had not run into before, he was willing to look into it for me anyhow, seemed he was eager for a challenge. Eric made a lot of calls and research into getting our car fixed and it now works as it should, we brought the car in on 5/6 and got it back on 5/17 , they were always happy to talk to me when I called to check in on the progress and I had a loaner car for the whole time. Even though they are over an hour away I'd have to think real hard as to why I would take my Hybrid anywhere else! The price was very fair as well.

Our two hybrids have never run better since we started having them serviced by the outstanding staff at Ervine's/Grand Rapids Hybrid. I have complete confidence that all their work is done with the highest skill and professionalism. The office staff is the best I've ever dealt with.
