I just want to say Thank you. Over the weekend my daughter's car a 2011 Chevy Equinox had the check engine light come on. I had her take it to auto zone to have the codes read. Turns out it is sending a code for the exhaust came actuator. I had her park it not wanting it to possibly be a cam issue that could destroy a valve until we could get it into the dealership. Unfortunately once the dealership looked at the car they found that the oil level was extremely low and may have caused severe engine damage. This car never smoked , had no visible oil leaks and had all scheduled maintenance done up to this point. No oil light came on prior to this. I reached out to the AMAZING staff at Ervine's just to ask their opinion on what could have caused this and they very willingly gave us advise and a few pointers.. This is something that they did not have to do and most other service garages would have stated that they would need to see the car before giving any advice. We are getting the oil changed on my daughters car and replacing the actuator to try to limp it along. However after this I believe we will drive the extra distance to have our cars serviced by the outstanding staff at Ervine's Auto Repair. Thank you again for your help. I wish I could rate you guys higher then the 5 stars. You all definitely won our business over.
Nice to talk with you Tim, thank you for taking the time to write a review. Many times it is not in vehicle owner's best interest to give advice over the phone. I'm happy our ASE Certified Master Technician, Bruce , was able to obtain enough information from you to give you some options today. We look forward to meeting you in person in the future.
