Eric and Jamie Carlson – Owners

Eric and Jamie Carlson, the husband-and-wife team behind Ervine’s Auto Repair & Grand Rapids Hybrid and EV, have built their business on a foundation of honesty, excellence, and genuine care for both their customers and their team. Together, they’ve created more than just a repair facility—they’ve built a place where customers are treated like family, and high standards are the norm.

Eric is more than just a master technician—he’s a true car enthusiast at heart. With decades of hands-on experience, he’s gained a deep understanding of all types of vehicles, from domestic models to hybrids and European cars. What sets Eric apart isn’t just his knowledge, but the care and precision he puts into every job. He’s also helped shape the future of the industry, writing ASE certification tests for hybrid and electric vehicles, which technicians all over the country rely on. But Eric doesn’t just live and breathe cars—his love for adventure keeps him busy when he’s not working. Whether it’s kayaking on a quiet lake, camping under the stars, or flying through the sky, Eric makes sure to enjoy life as much as he enjoys working on cars.

Jamie’s leadership style is all about balance—her sharp business mind mixed with a genuine love for people. She’s the driving force behind Ervine’s welcoming and trustworthy culture, making sure that everyone who walks through the door, whether it’s a customer or a team member, feels respected and valued. As co-owner, Jamie works tirelessly to ensure the shop runs like a well-oiled machine, but her dedication doesn’t go unnoticed. Her accomplishments speak for themselves, with accolades like Female Shop Owner of the Year from Women in Auto Care and AAPEX Shop Owners of the Year. Outside of work, Jamie is all about finding joy in the little things—whether she’s paddleboarding on the water, tending to her garden, throwing pottery, or laughing around the dinner table with her family, she makes sure to savor every moment.

Together, Eric and Jamie have built something truly special at Ervine’s—where excellent technical skill meets a deep sense of community. Their shared commitment to excellence has earned them numerous accolades, including the ACE Award and several honors for Eric, including being named NAPA Technician of the Year three times. They’ve created a business that’s not just about fixing cars, but about taking care of people and building lasting relationships.

Megan Dineff

General Manager

Our General Manager, Megan, has grown from starting as a receptionist to becoming an award-winning leader in the automotive industry. With several industry honors, including the Women in Auto Care Shop Team Member of the Year and the YANG Impact Award, Megan has a deep understanding of the business and a passion for creating a welcoming environment for both customers and her team. Outside the shop, Megan loves spending time with her family, juggling sports schedules, school volunteering, and whipping up quick family dinners. She still believes the best part of her job is working alongside her family and team to serve the community she loves.

Steve Flaherty

ASE Master Technician, L3 & Service Advisor

For Steve, working with his hands has always come naturally. From tinkering with bikes and skateboards to cars, it’s in his blood. Now as a Service Advisor, Steve works hard to build trusting relationships with customers while explaining repairs with the help of technology. Steve enjoys golfing and spending time with his family, and you might be surprised to learn he’s passionate about lawn care—mowing straight lines and watering his yard is his happy place!

Justin Coleman

ASE Master Technician, L3

Justin has spent over 20 years in the automotive industry, specializing in timing belt replacements and hybrid battery installations. He’s particularly skilled in working on Toyotas, Hondas, and Subarus. Outside of work, Justin enjoys family time and friends, with his must-have tool being his trusty swivel socket.

Keith Prindle

ASE Master Technician

With 27 years in the industry, Keith specializes in maintenance services and hybrid vehicles, especially the Toyota Prius. Keith enjoys the challenge of his work, though the team makes it look easy. Outside of work, Keith is an avid golfer and loves camping and spending time outdoors. His go-to tool in the shop? His trusty impact wrench.

Jacob Dillon

ASE Master Technician, L3

Jacob has over 12 years of automotive experience and specializes in engine work and electrical testing. He’s particularly passionate about working on European vehicles as well as Toyotas and Lexuses. Jacob believes customers are often surprised by the amount of paperwork that goes into ensuring clear communication about their vehicle. Cooking, home repairs, and family time—that’s what fills his days when he’s not working on cars. His wife and baby are his favorites.

Amber Bernatowitiz

Customer Experience

Amber has been around cars since she was 15, and her passion for the automotive world led her to join Ervine’s to deepen her knowledge. Comforting customers and providing excellent service are what she does best. Amber is known for making each visit easier by offering transparency and support. Outside of work, Amber enjoys hiking, camping, and spending time with her cat, Selen. She’s also an expert in building cars out of Legos!

William Weider

Apprentice

William joined the automotive industry six years ago, driven by a love of cars and solving problems. His favorite work is suspension repairs, and he enjoys working on Hondas. William is surprised by how much technology is involved in modern auto repair, but loves it! Outside of work, he enjoys working on performance cars and his favorite tool is his Snap-on 3/8″ ratchet.
